Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of it's passage.

On motion by Mr. McCulloh,
The Senate concurred in the said amendments.

The said bill as amended, was passed by yeas and nays as
follows:

Mr. Fields, from a Select Committee, reported favorably

The Senate Bill, entitled an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Caroline county, to borrow money for the
purpose of remodeling and improving the Court House in
said county, and constructing the necessary fire-proof vaults
for the preservation of the records and court papers of the
Circuit Court and Orphans' Court of said county, to issue
bonds tor the payment of the same, and to levy taxes on the
assessable property of said county, to redeem such bonds and
to pay the interest thereon,

Which was read the first time.

The Hon. C. J. Pennington appeared and delivered the
following communication from His Excellency, Gov. Whyte:

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT.

Annapolis, March 2nd, 1874.
To the Senate:

I have the honor to inform your Honorable Body that I
have approved the following Senate bills :

No. 53. A bill entitled an Act to amend the sixth section
of the Act of 1858, chapter four hundred and ten, entitled
"an Act to incorporate the Mineral Hill Mining Company of
Maryland," by dispensing with the making and publishing
of the annual statement therein provided for, and by provi-
ding that statements of the affairs of the company shall be
made as provided for in the sixty-sixth section of the Act of
Assembly of 1868, chapter four hundred and seventy-one.

No. 54. A bill entitled an Act to amend the third section
f the Act of January Session, 1867, chapter two hundred
and sixty-eight, entitled "an. Act to incorporate the Balti-
