Mr. Lloyd presented a petition from J. H. Covey and others,
of Talbot county, protesting against the passage of any law
allowing the catching of Oysters within certain limits in Tal-
bot county.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries,
On motion by Mr. Blake, it was
Ordered, That the Postmaster of the Senate procure a suffi-
cient number of stamps, and place them upon the Daily
Journal and Documents ordered to be sent to the .newspapers
throughout the State.
On motion by Mr. Walsh, it was
Ordered, That the Committee on Judicial Proceedings be,
and it is hereby, requested to report to this body, at as early
a day as possible, what alterations or amendments it may
deem advisable to be made in Section 8, of Article IV, of the
Constitution, which provides for the removal of cases from,
one Court to another.
On motion by Mr. Fields, it was
Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
pay to William Murdock three days per diem, for services
rendered as Janitor at the opening of the Senate.
On motion by Mr. Blake,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to, introduce a bill, title "Chancery, Testimony aad
Witnesses."
On motion by Mr. Stevens,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce; a bill entitled "An Act to amend the Third Section
of the Act of January Session, eighteen hundred and sixty-
seven, Chapter two hundred and sixty-eight," entitled "An
Act to incorporate the Baltimore Warehouse Company," as
amended by the First Section of the Act of January Session,
eighteen hundred and seventy, Chapter one hundred and
twenty-five, entitled "An Act to amend the Act of January
Session, eighteen hundred and sixty-seven, Chapter two hun-
