Resolutions to the General Assembly of Maryland.

Which,

On motion by Mr. Stevens,

Were read and referred to the Committee ou Judicial Pro-
ceedings, and

Ordered to be entered ou the Journal.
On motion by Mr. Steiner, it was

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Senator
Spencer, of Kent county, is absent from the Senate in conse-
quence of indisposition.

Mr. Stevens presented the petition of Jesse Lazear, Wm.
P. Webb, John E. Phillips, Samuel Snowden, Edward H.
Gelston, Wm. E. Edmonson and others, of Baltimore coun-
ty, asking the extension of the limits of the city of Balti-
more.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Billingsley presented the memorial of Committee of
Alumni of St. John's College.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Billingsley presented the petition of John G. Patter-
son, James Wheeler, Thos. E. Kemp and forty other citizens
of Baltimore county, praying the passage of a law to give
the voters of each Election District the right to elect their
School Commissioners, &c.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

On motion by Mr. Walsh, it was

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal that the
Senator from Harford was absent on Friday owing to illness
in his family.

On motion by Mr. Longwell,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill to declare the sanction, of the General
Assembly to the bequest of John H. Tingling, late of the
city of Westminster, to the Trustees of the Methodist Pro-
testant Church of Westminster, Carroll county.

On motion by Mr. Walsh,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Walsh, Longwell and Knight
to introduce a bill to amend the Act of January Session,
1872, chapter 54.
