SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the board of presi-

dent and directors shall have power to appoint a

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That as soon as the said

company shall be organized by the election of its

directors and president, as hereinbefore provided, it

shall be lawful for the said company, and it is hereby

authorized, to proceed to lay, or cause to be laid,

along and under the streets, squares, lanes and

alleys of the said City of Baltimore, paved or un-

paved, such and as many pipes as may be necessary

to carry the gas from their manufactory or manufac-

tories, which the said company is hereby authorized

to establish and carry on within said city, and also

to supply with light any dwelling house or other

buildings, or any place whatever belonging to

any individual or individuals, or corporation, ad-

jacent to any such street, square, lane or alley in

and along which the said pipes shall be so laid, and

the same, from time to time repair, renew or remove;

provided, always, that the said company shall riot in

any manner injure or displace any of the pipes laid

or to be laid, for the purpose of supplying water to

said city, or any of the pipes then laid by the Gas-

light Company of Baltimore, or the People's Gas
