LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Execute a bond

SEC. 4. And be ii enacted, That each student receiv-

 

ing such appointment shall execute a bond to the

 

State of Maryland, in such penalty and with such

 

security as the Judges of the Orphans' Court may

 

approve, with the condition that he will teach in one

 

or more of the public schools of this State for not

 

less than two years after he graduates, which bond'

 

shall remain in the custody of said Judges, and in

 

case of forfeiture, suit may be instituted thereon in

 

the name of the State ty the State's Attorney of the

 

county from which such student was appointed, who

 

shall pay over all sums recovered by said suits to the

 

Board of County School Commissioners of said

 

county, for the use of the public schools of the

 

county.

 

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer, on

Appropriation

the warrant of the Comptroller, be and he is hereby

 

authorized and directed to pay to the Visitors and

 

Governors of Washington College, the sum of one

 

thousand dollars to be applied by them in increasing'

 

and improving the library and philosophical and

 

chemical apparatus of said college.

 

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 284.

 

AN ACT to repeal sections one and two of article

 

one, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled

 

"Allegany County," sub-title "Alms-House," and

 

to re-enact the same with amendments.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Repealed and
re-enacted

Maryland, That sections one and two of article one,

 

of the Code of Public Local Laws entitled Allegany

 

county, sub-title "Alms-House," be and are hereby

 

repealed, and re-enacted so as to read as follows ;
