CHAPTER 255.

 

AN ACT to indemnify Asbury McNamara of Dor-

 

chester county, for loss and damage sustained by

 

him by Oyster Police steamer, in the year eighteen

 

hundred and sixty-nine.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Appropriation

Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be

to Asbury
McNamara

and he is hereby directed to pay unto Asbury McNa-
mara, of Dorchester county, the sum of thirty-four

 

dollars and fifteen cents, ($34.15,) for loss and damage

 

unstained by him by Oyster Police steamer, in the

 

year eighteen hundred and sixty-nine, said amount

 

to be paid by the Comptroller out of the oyster fund.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

 

effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 256.

 

AN ACT to add an additional section to article fifty-

 

six of the Code of Public General Laws, title Li-

 

censes, sub-title Brokers, and to repeal the seven-

 

teenth section of said act, and re-enact said seven-

 

teenth section with amendments, requiring pawn-

 

brokers to pay a State license.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That an additional sub-section be added

to section eleven, article fifty-six, of the Code of Pub-

 

lic General Laws, title licenses, sub-title brokers, to

 

read as follows :

SEC. 11. Sub-section 2. Any person applying for
the same, and paying the sum of one hundred dollars,

 

may obtain a license to carry on the business of pawn-
