SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall take	In force

CHAPTER 214.
AN ACT to repeal chapter eighty -one, of the acts
passed at January session, eighteen hundred and
seventy-two, relating to catching oysters with
scoops in Dorchester county, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of	Repealed and
Maryland, That the act passed at the January ses-	re-enacted
sion, eighteen hundred and seveuty-two, relating to
catching oysters with scoop in the waters of Dorches-
ter county, be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted to read as follows:
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be lawful for
citizens of Dorchester county to catch oysters with	Catch oyeters
scoops or light dredge in boats not exceeding ten	with scoop or
tons burthen, according to rule of custom-house	dredge
measurement, in Honga River, Hooper's Straits, Tar
Bay, and that part of Fishing Bay which lies to the
southward and westward of a straight line drawn
from the middle of Tedious Creek to Clay Island
Light-house; provided that no boats licensed under
the provisions of this act, shall work within two hun-
dred yards of the shore.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That residents of said
county be allowed to catch oysters with scoops or
light dredge in the waters above-named, by obtain-	Residents.

county, a license which shall have effect from the
first of September to the first of the next ensuing
September of each year ; and provided that said li-
cense shall not authorize the taking of oysters, as
aforesaid, between the first day of May and the fif-
teenth day of September.
