SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the bonds hereby

authorized to be issued, shall be exempt from all

taxation

taxation except taxes due the State, and that the

coupons due on said bonds shall be received by the

collector of taxes in Washington county, in payment
|

of county taxes.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That if the said County

Commissioners shall find it impracticable to raise

the sum of money required to pay the said bonds,

falling due in the years eighteen hundred and

seventy-four, eighteen hundred and seventy-five, and

except upon disadvantageous terms in the way

hereinbefore provided ; they are hereby authorized
|
 
|
to borrow such sum or sums of money aa may be
|
 
|
required, and to levy upon the taxable property of
|
 
|
said county for the same, in such annual instalments
|
 
|
as they may deem it expedient.

AN ACT to repeal chapter two hundred and eighty-

|
seven, of the laws passed at the January session,
|
 
|
eighteen hundred and seventy, and to repeal sec-
|
 
|
tions eight hundred and ten and eight hundred and
|
 
|
sixteen, of article four, of the Code of Public Local
|
 
|
Laws of Baltimore city, sub-title "Police," and to
|
 
|
re-enact the following in lieu thereof:
|
 
|
SECTION 1. And be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That chapter two hundred and eighty-
|

repealed, and that sections eight hundred and ten,
|
 
|
and eight hundred and sixteen, of article four of the

title "Police," are hereby repealed and re-enacted to
|
 
|
read as follows :
