tion for delegates to the General Assembly, as far as

consistent with this act; and the said judges shall

make returns under their hands and seals of the per-

sons elected, to the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
|

Prince George's county, and the said Clerk shall is-
|
 
|
sue a certificate of election to said commissioners.

Future elec-

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That all future elections
|

shall be held and conducted as shall be directed by

the laws of the corporation, not inconsistent with the
|

provisions of this act.

Elect Prosident
|
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the said Commis-
|
 
|
sioners, elected as hereinbefore provided for, shall, on
|
 
|
the first meeting after said election, choose one of
|
 
|
their number as President of the Board, whose duty
|
 
|
it shall be to preside at all meetings, to preserve
|
 
|
order and give directions to the clerk and bailiff, by
|
 
|
the direction of the commissioners, or a majority of
|
 
|
them, and in the absence of the president the com-
|
 
|
missioners may appoint some member of the board
|
 
|
to fill the chair temporarily, and perform all other
|
 
|
duties deemed neccessary to carry into effect the
|
 
|
provisions of this act.

Meetings
|
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
|
 
|
aforesaid, or a majority of them, may meet together
|
 
|
from time as often as occasion may require, upon the
|
 
|
business of said town, and not less than once every
|
 
|
month, and if in the year for which they may be
|
 
|
elected in case any of the said commissioners shall
|
 
|
die, resign, or remove from said town, or be other-
|
 
|
wise disqualified, an election to fill the vacancy, on
|
 
|
ten days notice thereof being given by the commis-
|
 
|
sioners, shall be held, at which all persons qualified
|
 
|
as specified in the fourth section of this act shall be
|
 
|
entitled to vote.
|
 
|
SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That said commissioners,
|

or a majority of them, shall appoint a clerk and as-

sign -his duties, and allow him such compensation
|
 
|
for his services, as they may think proper; all ordi-
|
 
|
nances passed by the said commissioners, shall be
|
 
|
entered in a book by said clerk, which shall be kept
|
 
|
for that purpose by him, and shall be opened at all
|
 
|
times for the inspection of any person interested, and
|
 
|
copies of all ordinances shall be put in the most pub-
|
 
|
lic places of said town.
