CHAPTER 37.

AN ACT to add a section to article fourteen, Code

of Public General Laws, title, " Bills of exchange
|
 
|
and promissory notes."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
Laws, addition
|
Maryland, That the following section be added to
|

|
article fourteen, Code of Public General Laws, title
|
 
|
"Bills of exchange and promissory notes," to be sec-
|
 
|
tion ten of said article.
|
Notice of pre-
|
SECTION 10. Whenever Christmas day, New Year's
|
test
|
day, the fourth day of July, or the twenty-second
|
 
|
day of February, shall fall on Sunday, bills of ex-
|
 
|
change, promissory notes, bank checks, and all other
|
 
|
papers requiring protest, which may become clue and
|
 
|
payable on the Monday immediately following either
of said days, shall be payable on the Saturday next
|
 
|
proceeding the same, and it shall not be necessary
|
 
|
for the holders of such bills of exchange or promissory
|
 
|
notes, payable as. aforesaid, to give notice of the dis-
|
 
|
honor thereof, until the Tuesday next, succeeding
|
 
|
either of said days.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
|
 
|
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal section eight hundred and

|
seventy-two, of article four of the Code of Public
|
 
|
Local Laws, title City of Baltimore, relating to the
|
 
|
limits of direct taxation within said city, and to re-
|
 
|
enact the same with amendments.
