On motion by Mr. Tuck,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Tuck, Brattan and Earle to
report a bill entitled "An Act to provide for the appointment
of a Treasurer, and a more economical Collector of taxes in
Anne Arundel county."

The Senate bill entitled "An Act to lay out and establish
a new election district in Somerset county, out of Lawson's
District No. 8 and Smith's Island District No. 7 to be called
Crisfield District No. 10,"

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 872 of Arti-
cle IV. of the Code of Public Local Laws, title 'City of Bal-
timore," relating to the limits of direct taxation within said
city, and to re-enact the same with amendments."

When Mr. Stevens submitted the following amendment:
Section 872, line 2, strike all after the work "expedient."
Which was adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was read the third time and passed
