Said bill was the,ri returned to the Senate.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to enable the Faculty of Physic of the University of
Maryland to build a Hospital, and to appropriate a sum of
money to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Balti-
more, and a sum of money for the Hebrew Hospital of Balti-
more,

Being upon a third reading,
Mr. Loane submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 1, strike out the words "thirty thousand dollars
for the University of Maryland," and insert in lieu thereof
"ten thousand dollars to the University of Maryland, and ten
thousand dollars to the Washington University, for Hospital
purposes."

Which was read.

Mr. Koons submitted the following amendment :

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Amend the amendment by striking out the word "thirty"
and insert "twenty."

Which was rejected.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
amendment submitted by Mr. Loane,

It was rejected.

The bill was then real a third time and passed by yeas and
nays, as follows :
