Mr. Fenton moved to reconsider the vote by which said bill
failed to receive a constitutional majority.

Mr. Gill moved to lay the motion upon the table.
Which was rejected.

The question recurring upon the motion to reconsider,
The motion prevailed, and,

On motion of Mr. McCosker,
The bill was laid over informally.
Also,

The bill entitled an Act to amend section 8, of Article 4, of
the Constitution of the State of Maryland,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays, with proposed amend-
ments:"

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

In the 5th line of section 8, after the word "indictments,"
insert the words "for offences."

In the 7th line of section 8, insertthe words "under oath,"
after the word "writing."

In the 20th line of section 8, after the word "true," add
the words "or that there is reasonable ground for the same."

The amendments were adopted,

And the bill passed, as amended, by yeas and nays, as fol-
lows:
