Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays, with proposed
amendments:''

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Amend by striking out all after the title, and insert:

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Harford county be,
and they are hereby, authorized to endorse the bonds of a
railroad passing through or near the centre of said county,
from the Susquehanna River to or near to the Gunpowder, to
the amount of two hundred thousand dollars, upon the con-
dition that said endorsement shall first be secured to the
satisfaction of said County Commissioners by first mortgage

on said road.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said County Commis-
sioners be, and they are hereby, authorized to endorse the
bonds of a railroad running from a point near Belair to a
point on the Pennsylvania line, near Delta, to the amount
of fifty thousand dollars, upon the condition that said en-
dorsement shall first be secured to the satisfaction of said

County Commissioners, by a first mortgage on said road.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall be adver-
tised in the newspaper or newspapers published in Harford

county for two months, preceeding the next election to be
held for members of the House of Delegates, and be subject
to the approval of a majority of all the members elected to
each House of the General Assembly of Maryland.

Amend title by striking out all after the words "Harford

county," first line, and insert ''to endorse the bonds of a rail-
road passing through or near the centre of said county, from
the Susquehanna River to the Gunpowder, to the amount of
two hundred thousand dollars, and to endorse the bonds of a
railroad running from a point on the State line, near Delta,
to a point at or near Belair, for fifty thousand dollars."

yeas and nays, as follows:
