Latchford,

Mr. McAleese, (the rules being suspended,) submitted the
following order:

Ordered, That Wm. H. Cole, of Baltimore City, the
present Reading Clerk, be appointed Chief Clerk pro tem.,
during the sickness of M. Y. Kidd, and that Thos. H. Moore,
of Baltimore county, be appointed Reading Clerk pro tem.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Watkins, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, (the rules being suspended,) reported unfavorably,

A bill entitled an Act for the promotion of Horticulture in
the State of Maryland,

And the report was adopted.

Mr. Harig, (the rules being suspended,) reported from a
Select Committee, without amendment,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower
the Board of Police Commissioners for the City of Baltimore
to purchase or lease ground in said city, and to have erected
thereon suitable station-houses, to have the title thereof
vested in the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, and to
pay the cost and expenses thereof out of the special fund of
the said Board of Police Commissioners.

Said bill was then read a second time.

Mr. Keech, (the rules being suspended,) submitted the fol-
lowing order:

Ordered by the House of Delegates, That sessions of this
House be held every evening this week, to begin at 8 o'clock,
and that the evening sessions be devoted exclusively to the
consideration of Local Bills, and that each county and Legis-
lative District of Baltimore City have the right to offer one
bill, that the counties be called in their order of voting on
bills, and that the call begin where it was left off on Friday
night last.

Which was adopted.
