relating to Testamentary Law. and to re-enact the same with
amendments."

Mr. Davis presented the petition of John G. Patterson,
James Wheeler, Thos. E. Kemp, and forty other citizens of
Baltimore county, praying the passage of a law to give the
voters of each Election District the right to elect their School
Commissioners, &c.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

On motion by Mr. Claggett,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to intro-
duce a bill entitled "An Act to refund to Robert G. Bamford,
late Sheriff of Washington county, the sum of one hundred
dollars, erroneously paid into the Treasury."

On motion by Mr. Brewer,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to intro-
duce a bill to promote the efficiency of the Maryland Agricul-
tural College.

Mr. Steiner presented the petition of J. W. Santee, and
thirty-one others, citizens of Washington county, praying the
passage of a Local Option Law, and of one making the seller
of intoxicating liquors, or the renter of the premises, respon-
sible for all damages resulting from such sales on or about
said premises.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

Also,

The petition of Sophia Hammaker, and thirty-five others,
citizens of Washington county, praying the passage of a
law submitting to the voters of the wards of Baltimore,
and of the districts of the counties, the decision of the ques-
tion whether or no, liquors should be sold in said wards or
districts.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Tem-
perance.

On motion by Mr. Mudd,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Invalid Deeds and
Defective Proceedings, to introduce a bill entitled "An Act
to make valid a deed from Samuel H. Berry, of Prince George's
county, to Edward D. Boone, of Charles county."
