The House bill entitled "An Act to incorporate the Union
Banking Company of Baltimore."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

Also,

House bill entitled "An Act to repeal an Act to incorpo-
rate the Hagerstown Hose Company, and to amend and re-
enact the same."

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs.
Claggett, Crawford and Aydelotte.

Also,

The House bill entitled "An Act to repeal an Act passed
at January Session, 1872, chapter 131, entitled an Act for
the better protection of oysters, clams, terrapins and fish in
the Synapuxent bay and its tributaries in Worcester county,
and to re-enact the same with amendments."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

On motion by Mr. Davis,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill entitled "An Act to authorize the Johns
Hopkins Hospital to purchase and hold a tract of land in Bal-
timore county, and to erect thereon buildings for the receipt
of convalescent patients from the said Hospital, and also to
purchase and to hold a tract of land for the reception, educa-
tion and care of colored orphan children."

Mr. Earle moved a call of Senate,
When the following Senators responded :

Messrs. President, Brewer, Crawford, Claggett, Earle,
Fields, Knight, Longwell, Mudd, McCulloh, Stevens, Stei-
ner, Tuck—13.

The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to notify absent Senators
that their presence was requested in the Senate Chamber.

On motion by Mr. Stevens,
Further proceedings under the call were suspended.

The Senate bill entitled "An Act to repeal section 2 of
chapter 362 of the Acts of 1870, so far as the same provides
that no extra assessments shall be made, and no extra or
special tax shall be levied or collected on any bridge or
bridges over a navigable stream, forming any part of the
