Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

The bill entitled an Act to add a new section to Article
30 of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and
Punishments," sub-title "Rivers," to come in after section
110, and to be called 170 a,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Ches-
apeake and Ohio Canal Company, and to repeal so much of
the Act passed March 22, 1833, entitled an Act to provide for
the continuation of the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road to
Harper's Ferry, and for other purposes, as prohibits the
Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company from selling or dispos-
ing of any of the surplus waters of said Canal, to be applied
anywhere within this State to the manufacture of any species
or description of grain, &c.,

Was read a second time.

The question then recurring upon the engrossment of the
bill,

On motion of Mr. Freaner,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and said
bill referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

The Secretary of the Senate returned

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the German Bank
of Baltimore,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays, with proposed
amendments."

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.

Section 7. Strike out the whole of lines 9, 10 and 11.
Strike out the whole of section 12.
