sage from his Excellency the Governor :
EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,
Annapolis, March 19th, 1874.
To the House of Delegates:
I herewith return, without my approval, House Bill No.
84, entitled "An Act to prevent trespassing with gun or
dog in Dorchester county, and to prescribe penalties there-
for."
This bill provides that, in all cases where the owner or
possessor of land has, by notice through the public prints,
or otherwise, forwarned all persons from hunting thereon
with dog or gun, that any person who, upon any pretence
whatever, shall enter to hunt with dog or gun upon said
land without first obtaining the leave or license of said owner
or possessor, shall be liable to a fine which may reach to
fifty dollars, and to imprisonment in the county jail for as
much as ninety days. It does not require that the notice
should be brought home to the knowledge of the trespasser,
nor define what kind of notice shall be embraced within the
extremely vague and elastic words "or otherwise," so as to
