The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Governor to ap-
point an additional Justice of the Peace for the ninth election
district, and also an additional Justice of the Peace for the
fifteenth election district, in Frederick county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to remove all gates from the pub-
lic roads in Prince George's county,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr, Lancaster submitted the following amendment;

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 1, line 5, after the word " Prince George's," insert
the words "and Charles," and make the word "county"
read "counties," wherever the same occurs in said section.

The amendment was rejected.

Said bill was then read a second time and .ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to amend Article 19, of the Code
of Public General Laws for Somerset county, sub-title "Re-
tailers," by adding after the 138th thereof the following
sections, relating to the gale of liquor in Fairmount District,
in said county, to be numbered section 138 a, 138 b, 133 c,
138 d, 138 e, 138 f, 138 g, 138 h, 138 i,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
Trustees of Providence Methodist Protestant Church, near
Mechanicsville, in Carroll county, to convey said church
property to the heirs of William Griffee, late of said county,
deceased,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Town Commis-
sioners of Berlin, in Worcester county, to erect a guard-house
in said town,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Clerk of the Cir-
cuit Court of Montgomery county to place certain fees in the
