Committee on Retrenchment in Expenses of the Several De-
partments of Government.—Messrs. Spencer, McCullough,
Crawford, Tuck, Getty.

Committee on Invalid Deeds and Defective Proceedings.—
Messrs. Brattan, Williams, Davis, Aydelotte, Mudd.

Committee on Revolutionary Claims.—Messrs. Getty, Craw-
ford, Earle, Williams, Suit.

Committee on Insolvent Laws.—Messrs. Steiner, Spencer,
Williams, Phelps, Mudd.

Committee to act Jointly, as Required by Section 24, Article
III. of the Constitution.—Messrs. Crawford, Getty, Knight,
Fields, Suit.

Mr. Denson presented the petition of John Jamison, a sol-
dier of the war of 1812, asking a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Davis presented the petition of Susan Dorsey, of Bal-
timore county, praying a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Steiner presented the petition of Frank Schley and 536
other citizens of Frederick county, asking a repeal of so much
of the Act of 1872, Chapter 320, as declares it unlawful for
any person to take and destroy fish by dip-nets or set-nets in
the Monocacy River, or any of its Tributaries within the
limits of Frederick county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Steiner, Tuck and
Mudd.

Mr. Earle presented Joint Resolutions requesting the deliv-
ery of an oration by the Hon. S. T. Wallis, in connection
with the Statue of the late Chief Justice Taney.

Which was read the first time,

Mr. Billingsley presented the petition of Mary Cullember,
asking a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.
Mr. Tuck submitted the following preamble and order :
