The Secretary of the Senate delivered Joint Resolutions
empowering the Comptroller of the Treasury to employ
counsel to assist in the argument of the case of the State vs.
The Cumberland and Pennsylvania Railroad Company.

Which were read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.

The hill entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed at January
session, 1872, chapter 44, entitled an Act to repeal an Act
passed January session, 1870, chapter 11, to repeal section
204, of Article 21, of the Code of Public Local Laws, for
Washington county, relating to Justices of the Peace and
Constables in said county, and to re-enact the said Act of
1872, chapter 44, with amendments, and an additional pro-
vision in regard to Registers of Voters in said county,

Endorsed, " Passed by yeas and nays, with, proposed amend-
ment."

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 204, line 5, erase the word "three," and insert the
word "four."
