Commissioners."

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Fenton, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 69, of the Acts of
Assembly of 1864, and the sections therein provided to be
added to the Code of Public Local Laws, in relation to the
levying of direct tax by the Mayor and City Council of Bal-
timore, and to re-enact the said sections with amendments.

Which was read a first time.
Also,

A bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act entitled
an Act to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore
to issue bonds of the City of Baltimore to an amount not ex-
ceeding two million five hundred thousand dollars, for the
purpose of providing means for the improvement of Jones'
Falls.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Merritt, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,

A bill entitled an Act to appoint Commissioners to re-dis-
trict Kent county.

Mr. Bird, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,

A bill entitled an Act to add a new section to Article 5
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Calvert County,"
sub-title "Jurors."

favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore to fund the floating debt of the City of
Baltimore, as authorized or existing on the 31st day of Octo-
ber, 1873, to an amount not exceeding two million dollars.

out amendment,
