Mr. Maclin submitted the following

RESOLUTIONS.

1st. Resolved, This 4th day of February, A. D. 1874,
that the Report of the majority of the Committee on the Ju-
diciary, in the matter of the memorial of Joseph W. Davis,
be and the same is hereby adopted.

2nd. Resolved, As the sense of this House of Delegates,
that the Legislature of this State has no authority or power
under the Constitution to suspend the sentence of the Court
in the case of Joseph W. Davis.
