AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Amend section one by adding in line six, after the word
"another," the words, to wit, "in Dorchester county; provi-
ded, that nothing in this Act shall be construed to apply to
Cambridge District, Church Creek District, Neck District,
Bucktown District, Drawbridge District, Lake's District,
and Strait's District in said county."

Park, in Garrett county,

a third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to compensate Josiah Stack, of
Talbot county, for services rendered in making the arrest of
Levin Palmer, an escaped prisoner and desperado,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill entitled a supplement to an Act passed by the
General Assembly of Maryland at the January session, 1868,
chapter 455, to confer certain powers upon a corporation
therein named, to render effectual the said powers by the
correction of an error which occurred in said Act, and also to
extend the time for the payment of the capital stock of said
Company, of the title as corrected by this Act,
Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to provide for the defense of Officers
of Registration, Judges of Election and others who are, or
may be indicted in the United States Court for acts done in the
performance of duties imposed, or in the exercise of rights
secured under the Constitution and Laws of this State, which
acts are alleged to be in violation of the Act of Congress
approved May 31st, 1870, entitled, " An Act to enforce the
rights of citizens of the United States to vote in the several
States of this Union, and for other purposes,"
