Which was read, assented to and sent to the Senate.

On motion of Mr. Stewart, of Baltimore City, (the rules
being suspended,)

Leave was granted Messrs. Stewart, Staylor, T. H Hamil-
ton, Foster, McColgan and Joyce, to intioduce a bill to re-
peal chapter 287, of the Acts passed at January session,
1870, and to repeal section 810, of Article 4, of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Baltimore City, sub-title "Police,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments, so that the police-
men shall receive their pay when sick.

On motion of Mr. Koons, (the rules being suspended,)

Leave was granted the Committee on Claims, (hereafter to
be appointed,) to report a bill refunding a sum of money to
Daniel Main, of Frederick county, erroneously paid by him
into the Treasury.

Mr. Keech submitted the following order:

Ordered, that a Committee of seven be appointed on per-
manent rules and orders for the regulation of the House of
Delegates during this session.

Which was adopted,

And Messrs. Keech, Henkle, Greenfield, Gill, Lee, Freaner
and Brace constituted said Committee.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
