The House bill entitled an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel county, to settle the accounts
of Thomas Perry and others.

Being on third reading,

The following amendments were submitted :

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Amend the title by adding :

"And to provide for the expenses and defense of the Regis-
ters and Judges of the last election indicted in the same
Court."

Add after section 1:

Section 2. And be it enacted, That said Commissioners be,
and they are hereby authorized in their discretion, to pay or
levy for the expense and defense of the Registers and Judges
of the last election, in said county, who have been indicted
in the said United States District Court.

Make section 2 read section B.
Which were adopted.

Said bill, as amended, was then read the third time and
