CHAP 45.

acting in the capacity of deputy as aforesaid; in order to
remove all doubts which may exist as to the validity there-
of: —

|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
all and every official act, made and done by Wilson Hays,
esquire, late justice of the peace, for Frederick county,
from the first day of January, eighteen hundred and twen-
ty eight, shall in no manner be effected by reason of the
said Wilson Hays, esquire, having been at any time a de-
puty or agent of the Postmaster at Wolfsville, in Frederick
county, aforesaid; but that all the official acts and proceed-
ings aforesaid, shall be as valid and effectual to all intents
and purposes, as if the said Wilson Hays, esquire, had
never been at any time deputy or agent of the Postmaster
aforesaid.

A supplement to the act, entitled, an act to incorporate the
Prince Frederick Town Academy, in Calvert county, pass-
ed at December session, eighteen hundred and thirty two,
chapter two hundred and forty-six.

May receive and
hold property
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the trustees of Prince Frederick Town Academy, in Cal-
vert county, and their successors shall be competent and
capable in law, and in equity, to take and hold to them-
selves and their successors; for the use of the said acade-
my, any estate in any messuages, lands and tenements, by
the gift, grant, bargain, sale, conveyance or devise, of any

person or persons, whatsoever; Provided, the same do not ex-
ceed in the whole, the clear yearly value of five hundred dol-
lars, and the same messuages, lands and tenements, to farm
and let, for the use of the said academy, in such manner
as to them, or a majority of them, shall seem most benefi-
cial to the institution, and to receive the rents, issues, pro-
fits and income of the same, and to apply the emoluments
thereof, to the proper use and advancement of the said aca-
demy.
