also represented, that the said Ann Clement, was a source
of much trouble and expense to the said Achilles Gilbert,
for which he has never been indemnified, and that doubts
exist whether the commissioners of Cecil county, have
power to afford him adequate relief; — Therefore,

CHAP. 246.

Be. it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the said commissioners of Cecil county, be and they
are hereby authorised at their discretion, to levy upon the
assessable property of said county, in addition to the usual
taxes, a sum of money which they may deem sufficient to
discharge the whole or any part of the account of said
Achilles Gilbert, against the county as they may think right
and reasonable.

CHAPTER 246.

 

A further Supplement to an act passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and twenty five, chapter one hundred and
seventy -four.

Passed Mar. 15,1834

WHEREAS, by an act of Assembly, passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter two hun-
dred and nine, section fourth, the General Inspector crea-
ted by virtue of that act was required to procure samples
of flounof the most approved brands of the Inspection of
other places to be reneived quarterly^ and upon consulta-
tion with the other Inspectors, and two commissioners of
review fix a standard for Flour of each degree of fineness
for the regulation of, the inspection thereof in the city of
Baltimore, which standard to be renewed quarter yearly,
was not to be inferior in quality to flour of the best brand
of any inspection in the United States; and whereas, doubts
are entertained with regard to the propriety of the discre-
tion thus reposed of renewing the standard thus quarter
yeaily for remedy whereof.

Preamble

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the General Inspector of Flour upon con-
sultation with the other Inspectors and two commissioners
of review, shall fix a standard of flour of each degree of
fineness in accordance with the provision of section the
fourth as aforesaid, which said standard shall be renewed
semi-annually.
