CHAPTER 532.
|

AN ACT to prevent persons and corporations having a li-
|
 
|
cense to sell spirituous and fermented liquors and lager beer
|
 
|
in Frederick County allowing female persons to frequent and
|
 
|
drink in their bar-rooms and other places.
|
 
|
SECTION i. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That no person or corporation having a license to sell
|

County shall suffer or permit female persons to frequent or
|
barrooms.

drink in his or their bar-rooms or place where such liquors are
|
 
|
sold nor in any room immediately connected therewith, or per-
|
 
|
mit such female persons to drink on the premises outside of the
|
 
|
building in which said bar-room is located such liquor or beer
|
 
|
purchased from the holder of said license, nor shall any other
|
 
|
special room be provided by the holder of said license for
|
 
|
such purpose; and any person or corporation violating any
|
 
|
of the provisions of this Act shall be guilty of a misdemeanor,
|
 
|
and on conviction by the Circuit Court for Frederick County
|
 
|
shall be fined not less than one hundred dollars nor more than
|
 
|
two hundred and fifty dollars for each offense, and on failure
|
.
|
to pay said fine, he or they shall be committed to the Maryland
|
Fines.
|
House of Correction for six months; the one-half of said fine
|
 
|
shall be paid to the informer, whether he be an officer or other
|
 
|
person.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
 
|
from the date of its passage.
|

CHAPTER 534.

AN ACT to appropriate the sum of money herein mentioned
|
 
|
to pay the claims of Martha E. Horn, administratrix of
|
 
|
John W. Horn, deceased, late of Prince George's County,
|
 
|
for over-payment of State taxes to the State of Maryland
|
 
|
for the years 1894, 1895, 1896, 1897, 1898 and 1899.
|
 
|
SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is
