kept especially for that purpose. In addition to the foregoing

the City Register shall also perform such other duties per-

taining to the proper administration of the duties of his office
|
|
 
|
as may be required of him by the ordinances of said city.

|
 
|
In the eevnt of any wilful neglect of duty, or in case of any
|
|
 
|
misconduct, misbehavior or malfeasance in office, upon his con-
|
|
 
|
viction thereof in the Circuit Court for Frederick County, or
|
|
 
|
any other court having jurisdiction in the premises, his office
|
|
 
|
shall be deemed vacant, and said Board of Aldermen shall
|
|
 
|
thereupon appoint some other person having the qualifications
|
|
 
|
hereinbefore prescribed for the office of City Register to fill out
|
|
 
|
the unexpired term of the person so convicted. The term of
|
|

first Monday of May next after his election, and shall con-

tinue until his successor in office is duly elected and qualified.

181. The Mayor shall appoint such number of city consta-

or by ordinance, order or resolution of the Board of Aldermen,

shall be appointed by the Mayor at the usual time of making ap-

|
 
|
pointments or at such time as the ordinances may prescribe,
|
|
 
|
and they and all officers herein named shall receive such com-
|
|
 
|
pensation as shall be fixed from time to time by the ordinances
|
|
 
|
of the corporation, and the Mayor shall have the power and
|
|

authority to remove from office any city constable or other

officer who may be found inefficient, incompetent or incapable,
