WHEREAS, Suit was brought by one George W. Edgar in

County Com-

1903 in the Circuit Court of Baltimore County against Deputy

missioners to

Sheriff Eugene Burke for false imprisonment while acting in
|

the line of his official duty, and the said case was removed by
|
sheriff.

the plaintiff to the Circuit Court for Harford County and re-
|
|
|
sulted in a verdict for the defendant, and the plaintiff took an
|
|
|
appeal to the Court of Appeals where the case was again de-
|
|
|
cided in favor of the defendant; and
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Deputy Sheriff Burke was required to expend
|
|
|
large sums in his defense as deputy sheriff of said county.
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
|
|
land, That the County Commissioners of Baltimore County
|

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
|
|
|
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 215.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Maryland Surety and
|
|
|
Guaranty Company.
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
|
|
land, That Section 12 of Chapter 298 of the Acts of 1902, en-
|

anty Company," be and the same is herby repealed and re-

enacted with the following three additional sections to the

charter of said company, to be known as Sections 15, 16 and

17, respectively, and to read as follows:

12. That the company is authorized to take, have, hold and

enjoy all such estates, real, personal and mixed, as may be ob-
|
