AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 36
|
 
|
|
of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
|
 
|
|
title "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Charter," relating to the
|
 
|
|
Department of Finance of the City of Balimore.
|
 
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
|
 
|
|
land, That Section 36, Article 4, of the Code of Public Local1
|

Laws of Maryland, title "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Char-
|

ter/' relating to the Department of Finance of the City of
|
City.

|
Baltimore be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
|
 
|
|
with amendments so as to read as follows :
|
 
|
|
36. The Board of Estimates shall be the head of the third
|
 
|
|
Sub-Department of Finance, and shall consist of the Mayor,
|
Board of Esti-
mates.
|
|
City Solicitor Comptroller, President of the Second Branch
|
 
|
|
City Council and President of the Board of Public Improve-
|
 
|
|
ments. The first meeting of said Board in every year shall be
|
 
|
|
called by notice from the Mayor or President of the Second
|
 
|
|
Branch City Council, personally served upon members of the
|
 
|
|
said Board. Subsequent meetings shall be called as the Board
|
 
|
|
may direct. The President of the Second Branch shall be
|
 
|
|
President of said Board, and one of the number shall act as
|
 
|
|
secretary, and said Board may employ such clerks as may be
|
 
|
|
necessary to discharge its duties; their number and compen-
|
 
|
|
sation shall be fixed by ordinance. The said Board shall have
|
 
|
|
power at any time to summon before it the heads of the de-
|
 
|
|
partments and sub-departments and all municipal officers and
|
 
|
|
special commissions or boards. The said Board shall annu-
