93. The Secretary having prepared three certificates agreeably to the aforegoing Form and having attached to each of them one of the certificates furnished by the State Executive Authority, they were duly signed and sealed by the Electors; folded and sealed, and endorsed by the Electors with their names and the following memorandum on each " Certificate of the Election of President and Vice President of the United States of America, in and for the State of Maryland December 4th. 1844." Whereupon the President delivered one of said Certificate to Mr. Ricaud, to be by him deposited in the Post Office in the City of Annapolis, and one other to Mr. Bradford to be by him conveyed and delivered to the Judge of the District Court of the United States for the District of Maryland: and the other certificate be delivered with a written credential under the Hands and Seals of the Electors to Joseph H. Nicholson to be by him conveyed with all convenient despatch before the First Wednesday in January next ensuing to the President of the Senate of the United States at Washington; and in case there be no President of the senate, as aforesaid, to deposite the same safely in the office of the Secretary of State, at Washington. On motion of Mr. Hambleton, it was resolved (the Secretary putting the question) that the thanks of this Body be tendered to the President for the able and dignified manner in which he has discharged his duties.
