69. next ensuing, and John Tyler, of the State of Virginia, was put in nomination for Vice President of the United States of America for the four years from and after the Third day of March next ensuing, that we then and there, in pursuance of the Constitution and Laws of the United States proceeded to vote by ballots for President of the United States of America; and when counting the ballots, it was ascertained, that William Henry Harrison, of the State of Ohio, received Ten votes for President of the United States of America. That we then proceeded to vote by district ballots for Vice President of the United States of America, and upon counting the ballots, it was ascertained, that John Tyler, of the State of Virginia had received Ten votes for Vice President of the United States of America. The annexed Lists of the said Persons, with the votes given to the same, are hereby returned by us, the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States of America in and for the State of Maryland, in pursuance of the Constitution and Laws of the United States, as having the aforesaid number of votes. Done at the City of Annapolis, on the First Wednesday in December, being the Seventh day of the Month in the year one Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty six. In Witness whereof, we have hereunto subscribed our Hands and affixed our Seals. |
