326 1929 Proceedings of Electors of President and Vice President of the United States of America, in and for the State of Maryland. At noon on Wednesday January 2nd 1929 the Electors of State of Maryland for President and Vice President of the United States assembled in the State House at Annapolis There were present: Lawrence B. Towers, William T. Allen, Charles J. Butler, William B. Wade, Sigmund Stephan, Milton W. Gatch and Thomas P. Littlepage. Lawrence B. Towers was selected Chairman and William B. Wade Secretary. Robert G. Foltz of Hagerstown, Maryland was duly elected to fill the vacancy caused by the absence of Henry C. Foltz, and took his place with the other Electors. The following certificate in Sextuplicate was received from Governor Albert C. Ritchie of Maryland. I Albert C. Ritchie, Governor of the State of Maryland, do hereby certify to Honorable Frank B. Kellogg, Secretary of State of the United States (in accordance with the provisions of an act of the Congress of the United States, approved May 29, 1928, and known as Public No. 569-70th Congress that the final ascertainment of the result of the election for Presidential Electors of the State of Maryland held in this state on the 6th day of November, 1928, a copy of which ascertainment is on file in the office of the Governor of the State of Maryland, shows that: Lawrence B. Towers Republican William T. Allen Republican Charles J. Butler Republican William B. Wade Republican Sigmund Stephan Republican Milton W. Gatch Republican Thomas P. Littlepage Republican Henry C. Foltz Republican were duly elected as the Presidential Electors for the State of Maryland. And it further appears from said ascertainment that the Candidate of the various parties for the office of |
