35. United States of America, State of Maryland, Sct: Lists of all the persons voted for in the said State of Maryland, as President of the United States and of all the persons voted for, in the said State, as Vice President of the United States, one of the number of votes for each. For James Monroe of Virginia, as President of the United States, Eight votes. For Daniel D. Tompkins of New York, as Vice President of the United States eight votes. We, the undersigned Electors for the election of a President and Vice President of the United States, appointed in the manner directed by the Legislature of the State of Maryland, do hereby certify that we did meet and give our votes by ballot in the manner prescribed by the Constitution for President and Vice President of the United States on the First Wednesday in December in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixteen at the City of Annapolis in the said State being the plan directed by the Legislature thereof and that the above are the lists one of all the votes given for President of the United States, and the other of all the votes given for Vice President of the Untied States, at the said Election.
