316 Which message was read where the President of the College declared that nominations for President and Vice President of the United States were in order: thereupon James P. Curley nominated Calvin Coolidge of the State of Massachusetts for President of the United States for the term beginning from and after the third day of March 1925 in conformity with the Constitution and Laws and no one else was nominated for the office of President of the United States. The President of the College Thereupon named Oscar B. Chenoweth and Henry W. L. Fricke as Tellers who received the ballots which were cast, and on counting the votes announced that Calvin Coolidge had received eight votes, the same being the full Electoral vote for the President of the United States. The President of the College announced the vote as aforesaid and the College proceeded to vote for Vice President of the United States for the term beginning from and after the third day of March 1925, in conformity to the Constitution and Laws. Thomas P. Wharton nominated Charles G. Dawes for Vice President for the ensuing term. The President of the College there named Oscar B. Chenoweth and Henry W. L. Fricke as Tellers who received the ballots which were cast, and on counting the votes announced that Charles G. Dawes had received eight votes, the same being the full Electoral vote for Vice President of the United States. Thereupon, the President of the College announced the vote as aforesaid. The President of the College then directed the Secretary to prepare the several forms of certificates for the signatures of the Electors which was by the Secretary done in the following form, to wit: (over) |
