The State of Maryland, Towit:

                    The Board, being in possession of the returns from the
several Counties of this State, and the City of Baltimore, of the Election
lately held for the choice of Electors, on the part of this State, to choose
the President and Vice President of the United States, proceeded,
agreeably to an Act of Assembly in such case made and provided,
to enumerate and ascertain the votes given for each person voted
for as aforesaid; when it appeared that John Rousby Plater,
Robert Bowie, Edward Johnson, John Johnson, John Tyler,
Nathaniel Rochester, Tobias E. Stansbury, Thomas W. Beasey,
Richard Tilghman Earle, Perry Spencer, and Henry James Carroll
Esquires had the greatest number of votes:
                        Wherefore,
                            It is hereby certified and declared that the said John
Rousby Plater, Robert Bowie, Edward Johnson, John Johnson,
John Tyler, Nathaniel Robertson, Tobias E. Stansbury, Thomas W.
Beasey, Richard Tilghman Earle, Perry Spencer, and Henry James
Carroll Esquires are duly elected Electors of the President and
Vice President of the United States. Given in Council at the
                City of Annapolis, and the Great Seal of the State of Maryland,
                this third day of December in the year of our
                                        Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred
                                        and Eight; and of the Independence
