of the State of Ohio had received two votes for President of
the United States, and that no other person was voted for
        We further certify that John W. Kern of the State of
Indiana was then and there put in nomination for Vice
President of the United States, and that James S. Sherman
of the State of New York was also then and there put in
nomination for Vice President of the United States for
four years from and after the third day of March next
ensuing.
        That we then and there proceeded to vote by
ballot in pursuance of the Constitution and Laws of the
United States for Vice President of the United States, and
that on counting the ballots it was ascertained that
John W. Kern of the State of Indiana had received six
votes and that James S. Sherman of the State of New
York had received two votes for Vice President of the
United States of America, and that no other person was
voted for.
        We further certify that there were distinct ballots
for President and Vice President.
        The annexed distinct lists of the said persons with
the votes given to the same are hereby returned by us,
the Electors of President and Vice President of the United
States in and for the State of Maryland in pursuance
of the Constitution and Laws of the United States as having
the aforesaid number of votes.
        Done at the City of Annapolis, Maryland, on the
second Monday of January, being the eleventh day of said
month, in the year nineteen hundred and nine.
In witness whereof we hereunto subscribe our hands and
affix our seals.
