200 On motion by Mr. Jesse Cookman Boyd The President was directed to deliver one copy of said certificate to Mr. Jesse Cookman Boyd one of the Electors to be by him deposited in the Post Office in the City of Annapolis addressed to the President of the Senate of the United States, at the Seat of Government Washington D. C. and one of the said certificates to Mr. Adam E. King (another of the Electors) to be by him conveyed and delivered to the Judge of the District Court of the United States for the District of Maryland. The remaining certificate was given to a special Messenger to be by him conveyed and delivered to the President of the Senate of the United States at Washington D. C. Mr. Emanuel W. Herman was selected as such Messenger. Mr. Secretary of the College was selected as such Messenger. The following credentials were prepared and after being duly signed by the Electors were delivered to Mr. State of Maryland Electoral College Senate Chamber Annapolis, Md. Jany 11th 1899. To all persons whom it may concern; Know ye that we the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States of America, duly elected in and for the State of Maryland having met at the City of Annapolis, on the day prescribed by the Constitution and Laws of the United States to perform the trust reposed in us, and having made out in due form Certificates and lists of the votes given and the persons voted for, and having confidence in the bearer. Secretary to the College have appointed and by three presents do appoint and authorize him to take charge of one of said Certificates and lists and with |
