On motion by Mr. Miles
                                        A committee of three was appointed to wait
upon the Governor and inform him of the meeting and organization of the College
and that it was prepared to receive a communication from him.

The chair appointed as such committee Messrs Miles, Bowie and
Goodwin.
Messrs Miles Bowie and Goodwin the committee appointed to wait upon
the Governor and inform him of the organization of the college, reported that
they had performed that duty, and were informed by the Governor that he would
forthwith send a communication to the College.

Hon Edward Lecompte Secretary of State appeared and delivered the
following Communication from the Executive.

                                    The State of Maryland
                                                        Executive Department
I Frank Brown Governor of Maryland do hereby certify that it
appears from the official returns, now on file in this Department, of an
Election held in this State on Tuesday, the Eighth day of November, instant, for
Eight Electors of President and Vice President of the United States, that the
following named persons were voted for at said Election and received the
number of votes set opposite their respective names for electors as aforesaid,
to wit:
