List of persons voted for as Vice President of the United States of America by the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States in and for the State of Maryland. Andrew Johnson of the State of Tennessee received seven votes for Vice President of the United States of America. We hereby certify that the above is a true list of the persons voted for by the Electors of President and Vice President of the United States in and for the State of Maryland and of the number of votes by him received. Witness our hands and seals this seventh day of December Eighteen hundred and fifty-four. To the three certificates prepared by the Secretary agreeably to the aforegoing form; the Secretary attached severally, one of the certificates furnished by the Executive Authority of this State in obedience to the Act of Congress of 1792 opt. 8. The said certificates were then signed and sealed by the Electors, as were also the lists agreeably to the foregoing form, they were then folded and sealed and addressed to " The President of the Senate of the United States Washington" with the following memorandum on each certificate, to which each Elector attached his name. " This is to certify that a list of the votes for President and Vice President of the United States in and for the State of Maryland is contained herein Dec, 7th 1864." |
