    VII.  And be it enacted, That as soon as congress pass an act ascertaining the
ratio of representation, the governor and council are hereby requested to cause the
same, together with this act, to be published in the Maryland journal, and Baltimore
Advertiser, the Annapolis and the Easton papers.

  LXII.

                                            CHAP. LXIII.
An ACT respecting the fees of the attorney-general and his deputies
                                on executions in certain cases.

26.
    WHEREAS it is unreasonable that the attorney-general and his deputies
should receive fees for executions issued in criminal cases, when
no fees are allowed to attornies for executions issued in civil cases;
Preamble.
    II.  Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That no fees shall be
charged or received, after the passing of this act, by the attorney-general, or any
of his deputies, for any execution to be issued against any person, or his securities,
for any fine imposed, or to be imposed, by any court of this state, or the costs
on the prosecution.

    III.  And be it enacted, That all such parts of an act, entitled, An act for the
more speedy and effectual recovery of common law fines and forfeited recognizances,
as give fees to the attorney-general, or his deputies, in the cases aforesaid,
shall be and are hereby repealed.

                                            CHAP. LXIV.
An ACT to alter the time of holding the courts in the counties
                                  of this state therein named.

26.
    WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly that the holding
of some of the county courts in this state at the times prescribed by
law, is attended with considerable inconvenience,

    II.  Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That from and after
the first day of January next, the courts for Allegany county shall hereafter be
respectively held on the fourth Monday in April and on the third Monday of
October, in each year, and the courts of Charles county shall hereafter be held
on the third Mondays in March and August in each year, and of Calvert county
on the third Mondays in April and September in each year.

    III.  And be it enacted, That all process, pleas and proceedings, civil and
criminal, issued or to be issued, and depending on the said first day of January
next in any of the said county courts, shall be continued, and shall be returned
and returnable to the days and times herein above specified for the respective
counties, any thing in any former law to the contrary notwithstanding.

                                            CHAP. LXV.
An additional supplement to the act, entitled, An act to regulate
                                            public ferries.

27.
    WHEREAS doubts have arisen whether the several county courts of
this state have power to contract for the keeping of such ferries as
they may think necessary, at the county expence;
Preamble.
    II.  Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the several
county courts shall be and they are hereby authorised and empowered to contract
with such person or persons as they shall think proper, at such price as
they shall judge reasonable, for the keeping of public ferries at such place or
places as they shall judge necessary, and that the price so contracted for shall
be paid by and levied on the county in the same manner as other county charges;
and in such cases the said courts shall respectively take recognizances from, and
ascertain the prices to be taken by, the persons keeping such ferries, from all
persons not entitled to pass free, in the manner directed by the original act to
which this is an additional supplement.
