At a SESSION of the GENERAL ASSEMBLY 
    MARYLAND, begun and held at the City of
    ANNAPOLIS on Monday the second of November, 

    and ended the twenty-sixth day of December, in the
    year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and
    eighty-nine, the following LAWS were enacted:

            JOHN EAGER HOWARD, Esq; Governor.

                                            CHAP. I.
An ACT, entitled, An act to confirm an act, entitled, An act
    to alter such parts of the constitution and form of government
    as prevent a citizen from taking a seat in the legislature, or being
    an elector of the senate, without taking an oath to the support
    of this government, passed at November session, seventeen
    hundred and eighty-eight.

    WHEREAS, at a session of assembly begun and held at the city of
Annapolis on Monday the third of November, in the year of our
Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty-eight, an act of assembly,
entitled, An act to alter such parts of the constitution and form of government
as prevent a citizen from taking a seat in the legislature, or being an elector
of the senate, without taking an oath to the support of this government, was
passed, to alter, change and abolish, such parts of the constitution and form of
government as are therein mentioned:  And whereas the said act of assembly
hath been published in due form for the space of delegates, according to the
provisions of the said form of government, and this general assembly hereby
intend to confirm the said act;
Preamble.
    II.  Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the said act,
entitled, An act to alter such parts of the constitution and form of government
as prevent a citizen from taking a seat in the legislature, or being an elector
of the senate, without taking an oath to the support of this government, be
and it is hereby confirmed and made valid to every intent and purpose therein
mentioned.

                                            CHAP. II.
An ACT to open a road from or near Christian Bower's mill, n
    Big Pipe Creek, in Frederick county, by Ox Moor's mill, on
    Patapsco Falls, to intersect the great public road leading from
    Westminster-town to Baltimore-town.

    WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, by the petition of
sundry inhabitants of Frederick and Baltimore counties, that they
find it inconvenient and troublesome to transport the produce of their
farms to market, owing to their situation and distance from any direct public
road leading to Baltimore-town, and this general assembly are of opinion, that
the prayer of the said petition ought to be granted; therefore,
Preamble.
    II.  Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Elias Magers,
Richard Winchester and John Blizard, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners
for the purposes in this act mentioned; and the said commissioners,
or any two of them, are hereby authorised to lay off and open as aforesaid, at
Commissioners appointed,
&c.
