CHAP. XIV.
An ACT to enable the representatives of deceased treasurers to pay
over the balances
in their hands.
Viz. to the treasurers of each shore
respectively. The commission, on receipt and payment, shall be
divided between the said representatives and the treasurers.
And when the representatives make such
payment, they shall charge themselves with one half of
the commission, where it has been drawn on receipt
of the monies, and pay it over to the treasurers. |

CHAP. I.
An ACT for the regulation of the staple of tobacco, and for preventing
frauds in
his majesty's customs.
To continue three years. The
31st chapter of the acts of this session gives it a continuance for twelve
years, &c. but it was afterwards repealed by the
act of June, 1780, ch. 14, sec. 84. |

An ACT to explain an act relating to leases made by the rector, vestrymen
and
churchwardens, of Saint-Anne's parish. PR. |

CHAP. III.
An ACT for quieting sundry the inhabitants of Frederick county in their
possessions.
Mr. Thomas Prather, the chief justice
of that county, having misconceived the extent of his powers,
had made a practice of alone taking acknowledgments of deeds for the conveyance
of lands. Such acknowledgments,
having been defective, are by this act rendered effectual. |

An ACT to enable Martha Roundell and others to make partition of the
land
therein mentioned. PR. |

CHAP. V.
An ACT for directing of the sale of the lands of John Stone Hawkins,
deceased,
for the payment of debts. PR. |

CHAP. VI.
An ACT for the division of Baltimore county, and for erecting a
new one by the name of Harford. |
|
WHEREAS a considerable body of the inhabitants of
Baltimore county,
by their petition to this general assembly, have prayed, that an act
may be passed for a division of the said county, and for erecting a new
one out of part thereof: And whereas it appears to this general assembly,
that the
erecting of a new county out of such part of Baltimore county, will conduce
greatly to the ease and convenience of the people thereof; |
