                                            CHAP. XI.
        An ACT to revive the proceedings of Frederick county court.

    Discontinued in February last.  They are, at the next court, to be in the same condition as they were
in at the time of the discontinuance.  There is an exception of cases where the action has been since renewed,
and the defendant thereon arrested, and where one of the parties has since died, or shall die before
the next court, which is directed to be held on the Tuesday after the levy court to be held under the first
act of this session.  It is provided likewise, that this act shall not affect the bail to any action discontinued,
or the sureties for any appearance to answer at either November or March court, unless a default has
been already entered on the recognizance.

                                            CHAP. XII.
                            An ACT concerning marriages.
    BE it enacted, by the general assembly of Maryland, That if any person within
this state shall hereafter marry with any person related within any of
the degrees of kindred or affinity expressed in the following table, such
marriage shall be void.
Certain marriages
to be

A table of degrees of kindred and affinity, within which no persons related
                                    shall marry together.
A man shall not marry his
    Grandmother,
    Grandfather's wife,
    Wife's grandmother,
    Father's sister,
    Mother's sister,
    Father's brother's wife,
    Mother's brother's wife,
    Wife's father's sister,
    Wife's mother's sister,
    Mother,
    Step mother,
    Wife's mother,
    Daughter,
    Wife's daughter,
    Son's wife,
    Sister,
    Wife's sister,
    Brother's wife,
    Son's daughter,
    Daughter's daughter,
    Son's son's wife,
    Daughter's son's wife,

    II.  And be it enacted, That if any person within this state shall hereafter marry
with any person related within three degrees of lineal direct consanguinity,
or within the first degree of collateral consanguinity, each of the parties, on conviction
thereof in the general court, shall forfeit and pay five hundred pounds current
money, or be banished this state for ever; and if any person within this state,
shall hereafter marry with any person related within any other of the degrees of
kindred, or within any of the degrees of affinity expressed in the said table, each of
the parties so offending shall forfeit and pay two hundred pounds current money.

    III.  And be it enacted, That the rights of marriage between any white persons,
subjects or inhabitants of this state, shall not be celebrated by any person within
Marriages, by
whom to be
celebrated.
