JUNE, 1699 COURT 513
[439] The Carleton Merchants Plantiff: William Jones Defendant
Debt and Cost 1704 and now here att this Day (to witt) the 27 of June
Annoque Domini 1699 came as well the Said Edward and Dudley Carl ton by
Joshua Cecell their Attorney to the Said William Jones in his Propper person
in Custody of the Sherife etc. and the Sheriff now returneth that hee hath taken
the body of the Said William Jones and the Same hath heer in Court.
And hereupon came into Court Samuell Brassheeres in his Propper person and
undertooke for the Said William Jones to Stay the Execution till the tenth day
of October next and the Said Samuell Brassheers doe Grant for himselfe the
Debt aforesaid and allsoe all Costs and Damages to the Said Edward and Dudley
Carleton in any manner by the Court here to be adjudged to be Leavied of his
goods and Chatties Lands and tenements to the use of the Said Plantiffs if it
Should happen the Said Defendant pay not the Debt and Damages and Costs
aforesaid nor render his body to the Custody of the Sheriffe for the Same there
to remaine untill etc.
Thomas Collyar Plantiff: Hugh Reyley Defendant
Debt and Cost 997 and now here att this Day (to witt) the 27th of June
Annoque Domini 1699 came as well the Said Thomas Colliar by James Cranford
his Attorney as the Said Hugh Reyley in his Propper person in Custody of the
Sheriff of Prince Georges County, and the Sheriffe now returneth that hee hath
taken the Body of the Said Hugh Reyley and the Same hath here in Court is
Committed to the Custody of the Said Sheriffe for Default of Manucaptors there
to remaine untill etc.
Samuell Goosey Plantiff: John Thickpenny Defendant
The Plaintiffe by Joshua Cecell his attorney Sues the Defendant in a Plea
that hee render unto him the Just Sume of three thousands pounds of Tobacco
and Caske too Conteine the Same Due by bill.
Upon which the Plantiffe by his attorney afforesaid Prayeth Speaciall Baile
may bee given to the action aforesaid and by the Court it is Granted unto him.
And now here att this Day to Witt the 27th day of June Annoque Domini
1699 came as Well the Said Samuell Goosey by his attorney aforesaid as the Said
John Thickpenny in his proper person in Custody of the Sheriffe and the
Sheriffe now returneth that he hath taken the body of the Said John Thickpenny
and the Same hath here in Court is Committed to the Custody of the Said
Sheriffe for Default of Manucaptors, there to remaine untill etc.
Ordered that John Mortemore give Sufficient causion to the Sheriffe for his
fine to the King.
The Court adjourned for two houres and then Mett and Satt.

Robert Wade, Mr. John Hawkins, Mr. Samuell Magruder, Mr. Thomas Sprigg,
Comissioners.

Ordered that Collonell Thomas Hollyday, Mr. Robert Bradley, Mr. Robert
