Said Deborah Kenneston being to be administred if She hath So much thereof
etc. and if She hath not then the Damages aforesaid of the Propper goods and
Chatties of the Said Deborah Kenestons to be Leavied and the Said Deborah
Keneston in Mercy.

Charles Beall Plantiff: Richard Taylor Defendant

Richard Taylor Late of Prince Georges County Shipp Carpenter was Atteached
to answer unto Charles Beall of a Plea of tresspas upon the Case etc.

And whereupon the Said Charles by Joshua Cecell his Attorney Complaineth
that whereas the Said Richard the 24th day of March in the year of our Lord 1697
[1698] att Charles Towne within the Jurisdiction of this Court Stood indebted
unto the Said Charles in the Sume of Four hundred pounds of Tobacco being
Soe much Tobacco that hee the Said Richard did promise to pay to the Said
Charles for one William Groome as by a Perticular account thereof here in
Court to be produced may more att Large appear and the Said Richard to the
Said Charles in Manner afforesaid being indebted In consideration thereof the
Said [436] Richard did assume upon himselfe and to the Said Charles then
and there Faithfully promise that hee the Said Richard the Said Sume of fowr
hundred pounds of Tobacco when hee Should be affterwards thereunto requested
unto the Said Charles would well and truely content and pay Nevertheless the
Said Richard his promise and assumption Soe as aforesaid made Little regarding
but mindeing and Fraudulently Intending him the Said Charles in that behalfe
Craftily and Subtilly to deceive [and] defraud the Said Sume of 400 pounds of
Pounds of Tobbacco or any Part thereof to the Said Charles hath not Paid
although the Said Richard to doe the Same by the Said Charles afterwards the
Day and place aforesaid was often thereunto requested but the Said Richard
the Same to Pay to the Said Charles hath hitherto denyed and Still doth denye
to the Damage of the Said Charles of Eight Hundred pounds of Tobacco and
thereof hee brings his Suite, etc.

To your Promise to pay me on the account and for William Groome .......... 400

The Plantiffe by his Attorney aforesaid haveing Ishued out a writt against
the Defendant which Said writt was returned by the Sheriffe that the Defendant
was not to be found in his Bailewick and Likewise have caused a Coppy of the
Declaration to be left att the house where the Defendant Last Lived in this
County it is Likewise Testifyed that the Said Defendant hath allianed himselfe
out of the Jurisdiction of this Court whereupon the Said Charles Beall by his
attorney aforesaid Prayeth an Atteachment against the Goods Chatties and
Creditts of the Said Richard Taylor for the Sume of four Hundred pounds of
Tobacco aforesaid as allsoe the Sume of four Hundred Ninety three pounds of
Tobacco his Cost and Charges in this behalfe Layd and Expended and by the
Court it is Granted unto him.

William Parker Plantiff: William Jones Defendant

The Plantiffe by Joshua Cecell his Attorney Brought his Majesties writt
against the Defendant of a Plea that hee render unto him the Full and Just
Sume of two Thousand two hundred Sixty and two pounds of Tobacco and
Caske to conteine the Same Due by bill.

Upon Which the Plantiffe by his attorney aforesaid Prayeth Speaciall Baile
may be given to the Action aforesaid and it is Granted unto him.
