And whereupon the Said Plantiffe by Joshua Cecell his attorney afforesaid
haveing Ishued out a writt against the Deffendant which Said Writt was returned
by the Sheriff that the Said Defendant was not to be found in his Baylewick and
allso have caused a Coppy of the Declaration to be left att the house where the
Deffendant last Lived in this County and Further it is testifyed here in Court
that the Said Deffendant hath alianed himselfe out of the Jurisdiction of this
Court whereupon the Said Plantiff Prayeth by his attorney afforesaid an atteach-
ment against the goods Chatties and Creditts of the Said Deffendant as well for
the Sume of Seven hundred pounds of Tobacco the Debt for Damages afforesaid
as allso for the Sume of four hundred and Seventeen pounds of Tobacco his
Costs and Charges in this behalfe Layd out and Expended etc. and by the Court
here it is Granted unto him.
Hannah Hine Plantiffe: Joseph Harison Defendant
Joseph Harrison Late of Prince Georges County was atteached to answer unto
Hannah Hine of a Plea of trespass upon the Case etc. And whereupon the Said
Hannah by William Stone her Attorney compleineth and whereas the Said Joseph
the 17th day of Aprill in the year of our Lord 1698 att Charles Towne within the
Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted unto the Said Hannah in the Sume of
two thousand two Hundred twenty and five pounds of Tobacco being for Severall
Goods and Merchandizes by the Said Hannah to the Said Joseph Sold and De-
livered as by a Perticular account thereof here ready in Court to be Produced
relation thereunto being had more att Large may appear And the Said Joseph
to the Said Hannah in manner afforesaid being indebted in Consideration thereof
did assume upon himselfe and to the Said Hannah then and there Faithfully
promise that he the Said Joseph the Said Sume of 2225 pounds of Tobacco to the
Said Hannah when hee Should bee thereunto requested would well and truely
Content and Pay Nevertheless the Said Joseph his Promise and assumption afore-
said not at all regarding but mindeing and fraudulently intending her the Said
Hannah in this behalfe Crafftily and Subtilly to deceive and defraud the Said
Sume of two thousand two Hundred twenty and five pounds of Tobacco to the
Said Hannah hath not Paid allthough the Said Joseph affterwards the Day and
place afforesaid to doe the Same by the Said Hannah was often ther unto re-
quested but hath hitherto refused and Still doth reffuse to the Damage of the
Said Hannah of twenty Eight Hundred pounds of Tobacco and thereof She
bringeth her Suite, etc.

untill the next court and it is Granted unto him the Same day is Given to the
Plantiffe Likewise, etc.
